The Power of Good Friends
Having friends that know how to cheer you up is necessary for every human on earth.
I know I haven’t been consistent with my writing, but I’ve been trying to keep up, and I really have. These last few weeks have been really tough for me. I was feeling down and overwhelmed with school and everything.
I’ve been trying to write something, anything, but writer’s block decided to dance zanku(A type of African dance") on my head and I wasn't sure how to shake off these negative feelings.
But then, on a certain day, I was so stressed and I was looking so sick and tired. I got up from my class to get something for myself after sitting for hours without doing anything. By the time I was back, I saw my friends just beside my seat waiting to eat me raw for avoiding them for almost two weeks now (They never see me in class and when school is over before they pack their bags, I’ve left school premises).
I was expecting yells and insults but the first thing I got was worried looks, well being the stupid friends that they are, the first question they asked was “Who served you breakfast?”, I replied, “What happen? Do you want to break it too? Don’t stress me o”.
Just then, my friends stepped in and did everything they could to cheer me up.
It started with a simple hug from the only sensible friend that was present. She could tell from how withdrawn I was at that moment that I was not feeling well, then one of them said, “You look like something that will break into two and faints if someone mistakenly touches you “. (See finish!)
Realizing that, all of them decided to “baby” me. We all ended up having a long conversation in class, and just talking to them and venting about my feelings made me feel a little bit better.
Later in the day, They came to drag me out of my dull radiating zone for a walk with no destination. We were just walking about like lost chickens, and the fresh air and exercise did wonders for my mood. My friends also took the time to listen to me and offer words of encouragement and support.
Finally, my friends (rich kids!) decided to sponsor me and got me my favorites, PLANTAIN CHIPS, AND CHOCOLATE (All of my girls are ballerrsssss!).
We all played games and caught up, and the laughter and good vibes were exactly what I needed.
In life, we all face challenges and difficult situations that can leave us feeling down and depressed. It can be hard to cope with these feelings on our own and having friends who can support and uplift us can make all the difference.
Friends who know how to cheer us up are able to sense when we're feeling down and take action to lift our spirits. They might send us funny memes or messages to make us laugh, or they might invite us out for a fun activity to take our minds off things. Whatever they do, their goal is to help us feel better and remind us that we're not alone.
Having friends who know how to cheer us up is important for our mental health and well-being. When we're feeling down, it can be easy to fall into a negative mindset and spiral into depression. But with the support of friends who know how to cheer us up, we're able to break free from that downward spiral and start feeling better.
Having friends who know how to cheer us up is necessary for every human on earth. Their love and support can help us through tough times and improve our overall mental health and well-being.
I'm so grateful to have such wonderful friends in my life. They knew I was in pain and they did everything they could to cheer me up. Their kindness and support meant the world to me, and I'm grateful to have them by my side.
